Hello Friends! Time to dust off this blog and get back to sharing information that can help teachers in their classrooms.

This week, I am happy/sad to be joining Oh Boy Farley for the last time. When I was just getting started with Knowledge Mobile, I was so unsure of what I would say. I know that I love sharing my ideas with teachers in real time and being right there in the classroom, that it was a real switch to move into an online forum to try to help others in the same way. Thank goodness for Oh Boy Farley and her monthly linky party provided 1. A topic to blog about and 2. More connections to make with other teachers.  Teaching can be so isolating sometimes. Sometimes it feels like it just you, your room, and your kids against the world,

Building an external  community has been critical to my development as a curriculum developer and new teacher coach. So many people within this linky share such great information, tips, and perspectives that I would not have connected to otherwise.  so it is so nice to be able to connect with other people all across the world.

So here it goes one last link up!

1. Listen

I am currently listening to the Teacherpreneur Telesummit which is talking all things social media. I like the summits because I can learn more about the content to share with all of you and how to interact with other teachers.
I am learning lots of tips and tricks, especially with Facebook Live, the new social media monster that is sure to take up even more of my time lol. These chats happen once a month and make nice background as I am am finishing up tasks and projects.

2. Loving

No lie, I am loving this freedom in my life. For the first time in months, I don't have projects and deadlines hanging over my head. I can work on my passion projects and the resources that all my teacher peeps are asking me for. It is nice to get back into balance and focus on the things that make me happy.

3. Thinking

With my new found freedom, I had the time to think about what I wanted. After a lot of soul searching, I decided that I want to work more directly with teachers and share that journey here. Teaching is hard yall. I work with a lot of new teachers and give them ideas and help to help be successful in their classrooms. I have to do a better job of sharing that information on this blog, I really wish I could go back to my younger teacher self and help that poor little mess out. I can appreciate it now because it helped me to be a better teacher, coach, and person, but I don't want others to go through what I went through in my first 2 years. As a result, I am making sure to share more of those ideas and time savers here to help you all get through your year.

4. Wanting

In the same vein, I want to take a bit of time to nurture my non-teaching creative side. As much as I love teaching and most things education, I have to have hobbies to keep me sane, even though they usually add to the craziness that can be life. My current obsession is learning how to make French Macarons.

Now, I have never tasted one of these things, let alone how to say it correctly, but they are so pretty! With mother's day coming up, maybe it will be the time I get that Cranberry Kitchen Aid Mixer that I have been eyeing so that I can whip up these little beauties!
IT'S SO PRETTY!!!! #prettypleasehusband

5. Needing

I need to get the word out! This is the first time that I will be hosting #TPTchat! I was super nervous about it but I really wanted to find a topic that people would really gravitate to! This week we are talking all things end of the year! Teachers from all over the nation will be sharing how they are finishing up their year and what they hope to accomplish. Be sure to jump on Twitter at 8 EST to get ideas and tips to share!

6. Truth

This year has been crazy busy. From hubby's hospital stay, working full time, parenting, and just life, I have noticed that I have not been keeping in touch with friends. While this is normal, when life was getting tough, I found it a little hard to reach out to people when I hadn't talked to them in month. So for my truth, I want to make the comment to my real and virtual friends.

Well that's all for Currently May! Thanks for reading!

What are you currently up to?

  2. I got married just over a year ago and we were given a kitchen aid mixer as a gift. One of my favorite things in my kitchen, I absolutely love it! I hope you get one soon! And good luck with the macaroons!
