Trick or Treat Blog Hop

So happy to link up with Rachael Parlett at the Classroom Game Nook Blog! Halloween comes during my favorite time of the year and I am so happy to share these tricks and treats with you!

One of my handest tricks has to do with the storage of materials for games. Where I work, I have to create activities that are ready to go and transportable for the site coordinators. In the past, the bags and materials have come back all dinged up and that really bothers the OCD side of my personality. I So I had to come up with a solution.

This week, I created a heads up game for students to play during dismissal to help them master their Dolch Nouns. When creating the bags, instead of taping the instructions to the front of the bag, I taped them to the inside of the bag. This prevents the instructions from falling off and being destroyed and adds to the ease of storage, so when many bags are stored together they are bending and pulling on each other.

Below is the picture of how I taped the instructions.
I made sure tape the top of the instructions down so that cards would not fall in the gap and get stuck. I also placed the cards facing on the clear side of the bag so the directions and game title were clearly visible.
Here is the finished bag. On the back of the bag, I also wrote how many cards were supposed to be in the bag. It is helpful to do this so that I can quickly know what should be in there and what might need replacing in the future.

Now the site coordinators will have a handy system of dismissal game bags to keep students occupied in the future. I hope this quick tip helped!
